Janot on the case against corruption in Petrobras; see the sentences
The Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Mercosur and the Americas received with concern the statements of the Attorney General of the Republic, Rodrigo Janot, in which he harshly criticized the management of Petrobras during his speech this morning in São Paulo. In his words, the jurist advocated for the removal of the entire board of directors of the state-owned company and assured that those responsible for the corruption scheme will be punished in a forceful manner. “The response to those who looted Petrobras will be firm, both in the Brazilian justice system and abroad. There will be no respite,” he said during the International Conference on Combating Corruption, which took place in Brasilia.
The attorney general also announced that next month a group of prosecutors from the Republic will work in collaboration with the United States Department of Justice to investigate money laundering crimes at the state-owned company.
